A major voice of the saxophone, Steve Coleman made his debut in New York with masters such as Cecil Taylor, David Murray, Doug Hammond, Dave Holland, Abbey Lincoln... Also playing in the streets with trumpeter Graham Haynes, he formed in 1981 Steve Coleman and Five Elements, a group that still serve as the main ensemble for his activities.
